COVID -19 UPDATE FOR HEALTH AND FITNESS MEMBERS
Ingrebourne Golf & Country Club
COVID-19: HEALTH AND FITNESS FACILITIES
Our Health and Fitness Facilities are now open, this is great news and we are excited about welcoming back our Health Club members.
As I am sure you will understand, there is a “ New Normal” with how we now live our lives during the current Covid-19 pandemic and this means we have made changes to our Health and Fitness offering to ensure that we create a SAFE AND ENJOYABLE environment for our Members to workout in.
Keeping Everybody Safe
Following government guidelines and completing an extensive risk assessment, we have created “Safe Working Practices” for all our Health and Fitness facilities. The key points are as follows:
- One-way entrances/exits and corridors throughout the building
- Extensive cleaning schedule including additional sanitiser stations and cleaning materials
- Flexible pre booking system for the Gym and studios to ensure no overcrowding and social distancing is maintained
- Gym equipment spaced out to maintain social distancing
- Studio class numbers managed to ensure social distancing
- Fresh air circulation system in use throughout the Clubhouse
- Temperature checks for staff, studio instructors and members
- All rooms and equipment deep cleaned prior to opening
The Gym
All the gym equipment that will be in use are positioned to ensure that members are socially distanced. We have been able to retain 65% of our normal gym equipment and workstations and will continue to offer a wide variety of cardio, free weight and resistance equipment.
To ensure that we do not overcrowd the gym we are implementing a booking system. This will allow 7 members to book entry into the gym every 15 minutes. We are also asking members not to use the gym for longer than 1 hour. This will mean that we will have a maximum of 28 people on the gym floor at any one time.
As a point of reference, the busiest we have ever been on the gym floor is 34 people at one time.
Our Gym team of Rhys, Jade and Callum will be on hand to assist members as usual and will be taking members temperature on entry, monitoring social distancing, equipment cleaning and the time members spend in the gym. They will be able to offer gym inductions and programmes which can all be pre booked.
We will also be continuing with our Gym Challenges which have been really well supported during the lockdown
Studio Classes
Our new studio timetable is now available as a PDF click here to download.
We are really pleased with our class timetable and look forward to welcoming back our team of studio instructors. Many of the team have kept us all motivated over recent months with multiple workouts they have posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages. I would like to say a big thank you to them all!
Class sizes have been reduced so that we can maintain social distancing. With our most popular classes we have reduced the class times to 30 minutes but have “doubled up” and are running two classes back to back to create more availability. We would politely ask that you do not book these classes back to back to allow more members to attend.
Due to social distancing, we are not able to offer Boxhitt or Circuit Training currently. This will be reviewed as we move forward.
We are fortunate to have such a large space to expand our holistic classes into, so we have not needed to reduce the class sizes.
As always we will be monitoring our class timetable and will review and make changes as necessary.
Studio instructors will be taking members temperatures prior to classes
Ventilation and cooling of the gym and studios
As we are a new building we are fortunate to benefit from a state of the art air handling system. This means we are able to bring in fresh air to all areas and replace the air within each room up to 5 times per hour. We are also able to cool the rooms to enable you to work out in a safe and comfortable environment.
Locker Rooms, Showers, Steam and Sauna Areas
Following government recommendations, initially we will not be opening our locker rooms, showers and steam room sauna area. This will be reviewed as we move forward, and as the guidelines are updated.
Online bookings and membership cards
Prior to the lock down we had moved over to a new membership and online booking system for classes called “Elite Live”. All members were sent an email which enabled you to register and set up your online bookings and download the Elite Live App.
If you have not registered for online bookings please email christineauvache@ingrebournelinks.co.uk and we will re-send you the Elite Live registration email. Please read through carefully the procedure to register.
Please also be aware that you will need to use the online Elite Live booking system to book for the gym as well as studio classes
As part of the move to the new membership system we have issued members with new cards. It is essential that you have your new card to enable you to pass the entry gates into the Health and Fitness facilities. If you have not collected your new card, please come up to the Club and the reception team will issue this for you.
Food and Beverage
You are able to enjoy food and beverages purchased from the club reception on our outside patio areas. Food can be purchased at the club reception or by using the Elite Live App and will be served to your table in disposable packaging by the clubhouse staff.
We ask that all empty bottles, food containers and condiments are disposed of in the bins provided.
Tables must not be pushed together and social distancing must be maintained at all times.
We hope you appreciate that the measures we have put in place are in everyone’s interest and will mean that you can continue to play golf in a safe environment. It is up to each individual golfer to respect and abide by these new rules of play at Ingrebourne Links Golf & Country Club.
